My children, as of late...

NASH..
would run outside ALL. DAY. LONG. if I let him.
Cars and blocks are the toys of choice.
Second only to a pair of shoes. He will wear any pair he can get his hands on, no matter how awkward they are to walk in. I think he looks fab in these red flats of mine

His first time scribbling on my cupboards. Awww... This is the ONLY time it will be cute.

BRIDGETTE...
clawed in the eye by Nash yesterday. Mean.

So pretty. Taken by my sis, Robbie.

Taken by SIL, Sarah. Sarah, how can I make this not blurry??

Watching BYU lose during March Madness.

I'm no photographer, obviously, so quit judging my pictures. I know you are.

Couldn't possibly be more excited...

to meet Samantha Grace Andersen.

She finally made it here on Friday. She is my sister, Robbie's, SIXTH child. That's right, sixth. And it looks like she is pretty much perfect. I swear, Ben and Robbie make the most beautiful children. Congratulations!

Bridgette's Blessing Day March 28, 2010

On Sunday we blessed Bridgette. Mark's mom made her a beautiful dress for the occassion. She was a real show-stopper in it. I was so proud. The blessing was great and we had such a nice afternoon with family. Thank you so, so much everyone that came. Holy cow, I appreciated it so much. Especially Lance and Sarah and Staci (who celebrated her 31st birthday that day, bless her heart) and Jamon who drove from out of town to be there.
Isn't she lovely??

Bridgette in my blessing dress. I think she wears it better than I did. Love the hair!

Feb. 23 One Week Ago Today...

One week ago today I was 38 weeks pregnant. I was tired of being pregnant. I was having random contractions and my labor was already progressing. So to help the process along, I took the advice of a good friend and I went outside and sprinted up and down my street. Then I came inside and got ready for my appointment with my OB.

One week ago today, as my doctor went to check my dilation, my water broke, or rather exploded. Since I was already at a 4 my doctor didn't want me to go home. So I walked down to labor and delivery and checked myself in. I was excited out of my mind that it was finally time to get this baby boy out and take him home. One week ago today I experienced about an hour and a half of horrible pain, then a couple hours of relaxation from the epidural. When they told me it was time to push I was worried it would take hours of work, like it did with Nash. But Mark and I went in to complete shock when our baby was out in less than a minute. One week ago today we got the shock of a LIFETIME when we were asked by the doctor, "Um... isn't this supposed to be a boy??" It was not a boy. It was a beautiful baby girl. The whole room was in an uproar when she came out. It was so much fun, so much excitement. Everyone was yelling about how this never happens. Especially not mistaking a girl for a boy. MAYBE the other way around. We actually had two ultrasounds that both looked to be all boy for sure. We were in complete shock for hours. It was so exciting and she was so perfect, but we felt completely unprepared. One week ago today, as she was handed over to us, we fell completely in love with our little surprise. We had to scramble to figure out a name, but we ended up going with the first random name that popped in to my head. One that I'd never thought of before. We named her Bridgette Lucille Wilcock. Lucille is my Grandma Johnson's name. It fits her perfectly. One week ago today, that was a good day.Because of the swine flu no one under the age of 14 is allowed inside and only a total of 4 visitors can come during your stay at the hospital. But I was so excited to be able to meet up with Nash for a minute in the hall. I missed that kid.

Opening my first baby-girl gift. Thanks mom!! We love the outfit.

Our 4 lucky visitors.. My dad was out of town, so my SIL Jodee got to come in.

After 2 long days, we were very ready to head home. We got Bridgette loaded...

And one week ago today Nash and Bridgette were introduced. It started out so sweetly, with hugs and kisses, but has since turned ugly. I think he will come around in time.

We love our little Bridgette!!!

One final note.. We were so worried about not having a stitch of clothing for Bridgette. But it didn't take more then a couple of hours for people to come to our aid. I feel so overwhelmed and grateful for the people who have brought clothing for us to borrow, or extremely generous gifts, some have done both. And a dinner on top of that. I will never be able to thank you enough. We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. It's overwhelming to get so much help when you need it so badly. Thanks everyone for the meals, clothes, babysitting and babysitting offers. I wonder if anyone will ever check this blog and read this..

Remember This??

This picture makes me smile. It was almost exaclty one year ago, July 23, 2008. It was a crazy time for our family. I was 39 weeks pregnant with Nash. In this picture we were picking my amazing little brother, Ryan, up from the airport. He had just flown in from South Korea, where he served his mission. My sister, Robbie, gave birth to her beautiful baby Lauren that day and it was the night before Mark's birthday. It wasn't so much crazy for me, but NUTS for my parents trying to be everywhere for everyone. You may think being reminded of how massive I was might be depressing but it actually just makes me smile. I loved it. And that's why we are doing it all over again. That's right. We're adding another little one to the family. I'm not very far along yet. 10 weeks. Please don't judge me for announcing it so early. If you saw me today you might be confused and think I am 20 weeks, but I just say, "Whatev." Sorry to whine, especially because so many women have it so much harder then I do, but this pregnancy has been pretty brutal. For the last month I mostly spend my days laying on the floor trying to hold in the vomit and stop my head from spinning while Nash crawls around me. I feel like a bad mom. But Nash actually has a viral infection right now so it's really evened things out. We just cuddle and read. Mark feeds us and cleans and works. It's not so bad. But I'm actually starting to have more good days now, so I hope I'm through the worst of it. We'll see. We're just thrilled out of our minds. Yeah!!

A few things that we've been up to...

Here are a few glimpses into how we've been spending our summertime so far... Nothing too exciting, but that's honestly just how I like it.Tuesday mornings at the park with fellow RS ladies
Nash just usually eats a lot of sand

Grilling, grilling, grilling (I've been doing more of it by myself this summer)

Lots of story time

Nash boy is on the move and lovin life

Savoring every single delicious raspberry and strawberry from the garden
(and impatiently waiting for everything else to be ready)

Bar-b-ques with friends.

I heart summer.

Sweet Independence

I think most people would agree that Indepence Day is a very high ranking holiday on the fun-charts. For me, it takes a close third-place trailing only Christmas and Halloween. BBQ's, fireworks, the great outdoors, red white and blue, and a little time to ponder how truly lucky, nay blessed, we are to be Americans. This year we decided to escape the heat and head up to Mark's parent's cabin at Panguitch Lake. Over the last two years I have developed mixed feelings for the cabin. It's very beautiful up there, plenty to do, the cabin is quaint and comfy but it has no running water. And being pregnant with Nash took away my ability to stomach the outhouse (scary spiders+pants down/vulnerable+unbearable stench+constantly having to pee=yucky) . I never quite recovered, and avoided going up there the last year because of this. But man, oh man, am I ever thankful that I decided not to let that outhouse ruin a perfectly good weekend away. Mark was so excited when I agreed to go up. And we had a BLAST. Mark's parents, Gail and Roy stayed the weekend as well. On friday evening Gail and I decided to take a bike ride around the lake. I hadn't been on a bike in probably 15 years. I realize now that I have been missing out on so much fun. I need a bike!

Just before our 9-miler around the lake.

Gail mopped the ground with me. Normally it would be embarrassing to have a woman more than twice your age beat you up every single hill and barely break a sweat. But Gail has gone running every day for the last like 10 years or something, so my self-esteem really didn't take a hit. It was a beautiful ride and Gail is always a blast to hang out with. That night they did a little firework show over the lake. How picturesque is THAT? I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
The next day we woke up early to head over to Panguitch for the parade. Gail and I had such a fun ride the night before that we decided to bike the 17 miles through the mountains to Panguitch. Once again, so much fun. I'm so lucky I didn't kill myself though. You get f-l-y-i-n-g down some of those hills. (does it sound like I'm bragging about the distance? don't worry, I understand that riding 9 miles is like the equivalent of running 2, so it's no major feat). Mark, Nash and Roy were supposed to meet us there at 9:30 to bring us some deoderant and a change of clothes. Unfortunately, Nash slept in and they didn't make it until the parade was over. Sad. I had been so excited for Nash to see his first parade, and so excited to change out of that stinky, ugly, neon-pink t-shirt. We had a great time anyway. Roy took us on a tour of his hometown, showing us where he grew up and other Panguitch hot-spots, we stopped at the General Store for a creamie and then finished the morning with a stop by Grandma and Grandpa Wilcock's graves.

Notice the empty street. Oh well, ya snooze, ya lose.

Nash's name-sake. Roy was named after his uncle, Obed Schow, the name was passed on to Mark, and now Nash Obed is carrying it on.
I think it's very sweet that Roy always takes the time to check in on his parents.

We finished up our Panguitch Lake trip back at the cabin with games and a nap during the rainstorm. It was heavenly. We made it back to Cedar just in time to take a quick shower and head over to my parents for a yummy din-din and an action-packed movie. On the menu: Tater Tots and Carl's Jr. six dollar burgers. Perfect. We were exhausted and crashed before fireworks that night. I didn't feel too bad.

My mom always takes at least a couple minutes to make the table look festive. I LOVE her for it.

If Ryan's there, you know it's a party.

Happy 4th of July!
